PERRY MIELE

  • LinkedIn - Black Circle

With over 25 years’ experience building and growing companies in North America and beyond, including in the media, advertising and digital marketing industries, Perry Miele brings valuable insights and sector expertise to every deal. His proven ability to execute is bolstered by his commitment to remaining at the forefront of emerging digital trends and consumer shifts, ensuring that Beringer Capital’s portfolio companies are well positioned to retain a competitive edge in a constantly evolving business landscape.

Perry is chair and partner of Beringer, where he applies his deep understanding of how technology can be used to improve business processes, culture and customer experience. He has played an instrumental role in driving highly successful portfolio companies, notably including the firm’s ownership of (and successful exit from) Blue Acorn iCi. During this period, and as a result of strategic investments in customer success initiatives and new products, BlueAcorn iCI firmly established itself as one of the preeminent digital commerce platforms in North America.

Prior to Beringer, Perry served as the chairman of Budco, then one of the largest fulfillment and distribution companies in the U.S., which counted top Fortune 500 companies among its clients. He was also partner of integrated marketing services firm The Gingko Group, which under Perry’s watch grew to become one of the largest independent agencies in Canada. After The Gingko Group merged with DraftWorldwide, Perry joined the latter’s management team to oversee its international operations. He was ultimately responsible for 36 offices across 24 countries, and spearheaded the firm’s global expansion via a combination of strategic acquisitions and organic growth.

Perry’s career to date has also included a stint with the Canadian federal government, where he ascended to the position of Chief of Staff to the Minister of International Trade during the NAFTA negotiations. This experience served him well when he later served on the LCBO (Liquor Control Board of Ontario) board of directors, a period during which the LCBO grew to become one of the top alcohol retailers in the world. Perry was also a member of the Young Presidents Organization for over 10 years, including a stretch as chairman of the Ontario Chapter.

Outside of Beringer, Perry holds the position of director at TSX-listed Andrew Peller Wines. He also gives back to the local community, currently serving on the board of Trillium Health Partners. In his leisure time, Perry is a keen fisherman—he has had numerous articles published in Real Fishing magazine—and enjoys active pursuits such as cycling and hiking. When not enjoying the great outdoors, Perry can be found getting creative in the kitchen, connecting with his Italian heritage through his love of cooking, or getting lost in a good book.
